Traditional Vs Contemporary Holiday Decor ~
The holiday decorations appear earlier each year…and this year was no exception! I heard Christmas music playing in the malls before Halloween! Not everyone gets into the decorating spirit so early though and some of us are making last minute preparations for a Holiday soiree or family event. The following are but a few of my favorite (and your favorite also according to our social media pages) home decor trimmings ~ traditional as well as contemporary:
Lanterns, red candles, ornaments, accessories and a touch of greenery brings the outdoors inside – without the cold weather! Photos found on Pinterest.
Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes – no longer being limited to the traditional evergreen. If you have no room for an actual tree, let your imagination soar and take on new heights as these clever decorators did…
Traditional Christmas trees of green and red have been upstaged by sleeker, more simplified versions, including one which was drawn on a chalkboard painted wall with a few lights for that dazzling finish! Photos courtesy of Pinterest board (L) and The Hunted Interior (R)
Table top Christmas trees are the perfect way to decorate for small spaces ~ a potted Norfolk Pine or a few branches trimmed from your landscape make easy work of holiday decorating! Photos courtesy of Enjoy Your Home (L) and Stylizimo Blog (R)
There are other options to the traditional “tree” such as these festive balls decorating a wreath or hung from ribbons by the fireplace with care. Photo/design courtesy of Will Taylor.
No room for a tree of any kind? Look no further – make a tree mobile with green balls and plastic filament found in the family fishing tackle box! Only your imagination limits what you can do with this idea! Photo/DIY idea courtesy of Not Martha.
One of the easiest ways to add a touch of holiday magic is simply by placing ornaments in cloches, a bowl or other visually stimulating vessel. Place them on a coffee table, mantle, or shelves for that unexpected pop of color! Photo Credit The Hunted Interior.
Don’t forget your holiday table decor! Does it get much simpler than this? A simple mason jar filled with white sand for snow, cranberries and snippets of evergreen! Alternate with the same mason jars filled with a candle and you have the perfect centerpiece for entertaining family and friends. Photo Courtesy of Country Living.
A Kouboo Instagram favorite – this winter white Christmas scene was inspired by stringing marshmallows and hanging them in front of the fireplace for all to enjoy a little snow indoors! Courtesy of Blue Eyed Wonder.
However you celebrate the Holidays, we here at Kouboo, wish you and yours a very blessed season with family and friends!
